The Fishermen Community Development Program, in collaboration with the Coastal Women's Society, organized an anti-drug awareness class for parents on Saturday, May 4, 2025, at 3 pm at the FCDP Hall. The program commenced with an introductory speech by Fr. Jithin Sebastian, Director of FCDP-TMS. The session was expertly moderated by Mr. G. Sreekumar, Assistant Excise Inspector at the Excise Range Office in Kollam, and Mr. Binulal S., Assistant Excise Inspector and Vimukthi Coordinator. The primary objective of the class was to empower parents with the knowledge to identify the threats and symptoms of drug abuse, thereby safeguarding the health and future of their children. The class aimed to enhance parental vigilance and awareness, equipping them with the tools to instill positive values and habits in their children. The session provided a clear understanding of the detrimental effects of drug use on children's future emphasizing the importance of parental involvement in preventing substance abuse. By educating parents on the risks and consequences of drug abuse, the class sought to foster a supportive environment that promotes the well being and development of children.
