International women's day celebration

International women's day celebration organized by Theeradesa Mahila Society and FCDP was held on 7th March 2022 at Rotary Club hall, Pallithottam. Mrs. Prasanna Earnest, Hon. Mayor of Kollam, inaugurated the programme. Mrs. Agnes John (President, TMS) chaired the programme and Mrs. Sunitha Vimal (Judge, ESI & Industrial Tribunal) gave the keynote address. Dr. Sindha H. Mendez (Chairperson, FCDP) welcomed the gathering. Mr. Tomy N (Pallithottam ward councillor), Mr. Sajeev Soman (Udayamarthandapuram ward councillor), Mr. Vipin Kumar (President, Rotary Club of Thangassery) and Sr. Mary Mathew (Superior, Snehakiran) offered their felicitations. The theme of the day was "Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow" (the UN theme for international women's day 2023). While speaking at the function, Hon. Mayor of Kollam, Mrs. Prasanna Earnest, highlighted that projects like WE-Auto run by FCDP-TMS, ensure a sustainable tomorrow. Mrs. Sunitha Vimal (Judge, ESI & Industrial Tribunal) reminded that women should find various sources to generate income. 14 women who completed their e-auto driving training were distributed licenses. Students from Don Bosco College, Kottiyam presented a street play focusing on the issues of women. Theme dance by TMS members and an afternoon of games and competitions made the day fun-filled and entertaining.
