An awareness for financial

An awareness for financial inclusion for the fishermen community was organized at FCDP by the Reserve Bank of India on 9th March 2021. Smt. Reena Susan Chacko, Lead District Manager, Kollam, welcomed the gathering. Lead District Officer, Shri. A K Karthik from Reserve Bank of India explained about the Kissan Credit Card and its advantages. KCC loans are issued at an interest of 7 % and an additional discount of 3% from the government, making the interest rate to mere 4%. He also spoke about the need for good civil score to obtain loans. The people were given awareness about digital banking by Shri. Rakesh, Asst. Manager, Reserve Bank of India. Shri. Ramakrishnan, FLC, Kollam, explained the various social security schemes that are available. Sanction forms for KCC were distributed to the selected people from the fishermen community. Rev. Fr. Joby Sebastian, Director FCDP- TMS, Shri. Atul Mohan, Branch manager, Canara Bank, Thamarakulam and Smt. Bindukumary, Branch manager, State Bank of India, Thangassery offered their felicitations. Shri. Suresh Babu, Senior Manager, Indian Bank, Kollam offered the vote of thanks. As part of the financial inclusion programme, the students of Don Bosco Boys Home were given pens and 50 selected fresh fish vendors from the community were provided aluminium vessels for selling fish. Notices were distributed to all the participants to create awareness regarding banking, cashless transactions and fraudulent activities.
