WE-AUTOS Inauguration

The inauguration of WE-AUTOS (women empowerment) project and the first phase distribution of electric autos to women was held today (4.8.21) at FCDP.

Hon. Mayor of Kollam, Smt. Prasanna Earnest officially inaugurated the function. 'In her speech, the Mayor said that by providing a sustainable means of income to the fisher women, FCDP was giving new meaning to women empowerment.'

Mr. A K Dilu, Regional transport officer (RTO, Kollam) highlighted environmental protection that is being brought out through the distribution of electric autos. The Vicar General of the Diocese of Kollam, Rt. Rev. Msgr. Vincent Machado appreciated the cultural transformation that is brought in through electric rikshaws.

The keys of the e-autos were handed over to the women by the honorable Mayor, RTO Kollam, Mgr Vincent Machado, Rev. Fr Stephen Mukkatil (Parish Priest and Rector) and Dr Sindha Mendez (chairperson of FCDP).

Present at the function were also Fr. Joby Sebastian (Director FCDP), Mr Tomy Nepolean (Counsellor Pallithottam), Mr. Vinod (Proprietor Sreekala driving school) and Mr. Shibu (Managing partner, Asian motors) were also present at today's function. The e-autos were flagged off by Mr. A. K Dilu (RTO, Kollam).
