Don Bosco Youth Forum

Don Bosco Youth Forum under the aegis of the Fishermen Community Development Program was officially inaugurated in the presence of a large gathering of youth at the function held at FCDP Hall, Kollam. Don Bosco Youth Forum consists of youth between 18-35 years of age from the Thangassery to Thanni in the coastal belt of Kollam. Over 70 youth delegates participated in the program. The main objective of the Don Bosco Youth Forum is to nurture the skills of youngsters in the coastal area and to empower them for personal and social development.

Deacon Jithin Joseph led the youth in various activities and group discussions. Mr. Devarajan, Circle Inspector, Pallihottam, spoke of youth initiatives as need of the hour. Mr. Samson Mathew, Secretary, YMCA Kollam and Mr. George Mathews, Treasurer, YMCA assured the support of YMCA for all the activities of the Don Bosco Youth Forum.

Outlining the plans of Don Bosco Youth Forum, Rev. Fr. Joby Sebastian said that youth under the banner of Don Bosco must emerge as the soul and voice of the coastal region. Dr. Sindha Mendez emphasized that youth ought to be the leaven in society. Present at the function was also Sr. Cecily Paul, Assistant Director, T. M. S.
