Celebrating World Environment Day

Date : 5th June, 2020

On friday, 5th June, on the occasion of World Environment Day, the staffs and members of Fishermen Community Development Programme (FCDP) marked the day by planting a tree at Vishappinu Vida Centre, Mundakkal. The sapling of a mango tree was planted by Mr Douglas Victor, member, Visappinu Vida, Executive Committee. The Director of FCDP & TMS, Fr. Joby Sebastian, TMS Asst. Director, Sr. Cecily Paul, Coordinators of FCDP & TMS, Vishappinu Vida team members etc were present.

At FCDP, the staff members planted decorative plants in the precincts. This was very much in keeping with the theme for World Environment Day 2020 viz, 'Time for Nature, with a focus on its role in providing the essential infrastructure that supports life on Earth and human development. It was also most appropriate that the new project of FCDP with BREADS, Bangalore was also inaugurated on the world environment day. The new project for sustainable livelihood will also promote 100 kitchen gardens in the coastal area this year. The new project was inaugurated by Sr Cecily Paul FMA.
